Workday, Tuesday, June 17th, 2025

Hello ATA Volunteers,

Please meet at the Admin parking lot in Markleeville at 8:00 am for Tuesday’s workday. We will then carpool up to Thornburg Canyon Trailhead. There will be several work options from dead tree and brush removal to lopping and raking. There will be up to a 2 mile hike in and then again back out. We will work until noon and try to be back to town between 12:30 and 1:00.

There is a nice creek to cool off and filter water from, but we highly recommend bringing 2-3 liters of water for the day. Dogs are okay, but must not pose a danger to volunteers. We have also had concerns voiced about highly active dogs endangering themselves by running past workers swinging or carrying tools. Please choose wisely when considering if your pet belongs in an active work zone.

Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please and if you wish to leave early you will need a partner and your own transportation. Dogs are allowed only on days where the crew leaders feel it is appropriate – see pre-event email for details.

Thank You!–
