Saturday, June 20 Workday

Hello ATA Volunteers,

We have a slight cool down on Saturday so we’re going to take advantage and finish up the Curtz Lake Interpretive Loop. Meet at the Curtz Lake Parking lot at 7:00 am. This way we will wrap things up between 10:00 and 11:00 am. Bring battery operated string weed wacker or hedge trimer if you have one. We will have some extras along with Rouge Hoes and McLeods for grass and weed removal.

Now that the BLM has opened the gate for the season it is especially important we get this trail cleared of cheatgrass for the public to enjoy. So we will get the remainder of the loop done Saturday…the quality depends on turnout.

Thanks, and hope to see you there.

A look ahead for next Tuesday the 23rd, we are hoping to be able to do a thru-hike of Thornburg Canyon Trail with a good amount of work needed near the midpoint of the trail.

Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please.
