Andy has over 25 years of trail building experience. He and his family moved to Alpine County CA in spring of 1996 where he began building trails on lands adjoining his property to give his young children and wife, who was a teacher, a way to walk to school. In 2008 he became the volunteer coordinator to build the newly proposed Turtle Rock Park Disc Golf Course. He continued to maintain the much loved recreation site and its trails until 2021 when the Tamarack fire destroyed the course and campground. In 2012 Andy became a founding member of the Alpine Trails Association and began formal training on trail system development and management. Andy continues training and collaborating with other local nonprofits and regional trail building groups.
