Tuesday, June 23, Workday

ATA Volunteers,

We are looking for a minimum of 6 hiking volunteers and a couple driver volunteers in order for us hold our Thornburg Canyon workday this Tuesday the 23rd. We would meet in Woodfords at 7:00 am and get shuttled up Blue Lakes rd. to the western trailhead. It is about a 3 mile hike to the area where we have a considerable amount of work to do removing downed trees and clearing brush to define the trail along a 1 mile stretch heavily impacted by the fire. We would then continue 3 more miles to the bottom eastern trailhead at the end of the workday, getting back to Woodfords around 5:00 pm.

We understand it takes a certain type of volunteer for this kind of workday and it works best with a large turnout. So if we dont get our six+  rsvp’s we will postpone to another day. And, in addition, we will probably plan an overnight, mid summer, to finish the work in this area.

RSVP is required if you are interested in either doing the hike or being a morning or evening shuttle driver. Updates will only be sent to those who rsvp. We must have an accurate head count for these types of workdays.

Further details will be provided in the updates.

Thanks everyone!–

Andy Lovell
