Volunteer Appreciation Event at Desolation Hotel
Hello ATA Volunteers and Supporters,
It’s finally here. This coming Sunday we kick off our Fall 2026 season with our annual Volunteer Appreciation Event at Desolation Hotels-HV. Please join us starting at 10:00 am. Volunteers will be there to assist you with parking when you arrive.
The work portion of the day will include four options for you to choose from. We have culvert and drainage cleanout closest to the resort. Then we have some good old fashioned dirt moving, ditch digging, and grading at a single location about 1/2 mile up the trail. Then we have new spur trail construction about 3/4 of a mile up, and finally we need a sawyer crew to work on some big downed Aspen trees just above that.
We wrap things up along the trail about 1:30 and head back to the Aspen Grove for Sorensen’s Beef Stew, Chicken Pot Pie, Fried Mac&Cheese, salad, bread and butter, and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, all provided by our friends and sponsors at the Desolation. Let the bartender know you are an ATA volunteer when you order your one free alcoholic drink so he can put it on our tab.
We will have drivers waiting to bring you back to your car whenever you’re ready.
