Work Day Saturday June 21, 2025

Hi Volunteers,

We have confirmed crew leaders for a workday this Saturday 6/21 on the Burnside Lake Trail. We will meet at the dirt parking lot at the start of Burnside Lake rd. at 8:00 am and carpool up to the trail. We will return to parking between 1:00-2:00.

The forecast calls for a beautifully cool day, so bring layers for a cold start but warming up to about 60 mid day. There is a 20 minute bumpy ride and about 1 mile fairly level hike to the beginning of work.  Then we work down the canyon towards the Charity Valley Trail and return the same way. The work will be mainly hand saws and lopping with some tread work thrown in for fun.

If you’ve never taken this trail you’ll want to check it out. If you’ve already done it you’ll want to come back.

Please RSVP by 7 am Saturday morning.

Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please and if you wish to leave early you will need a partner and your own transportation. Dogs are allowed only on days where the crew leaders feel it is appropriate – see pre-event email for details.
