Workday May 13th 2025

Hello Volunteers,

This Tuesday, May 13th we plan to meet at Curtz Lake at 9am and work down the River Trail pulling young brush growth out of the trail corridor. Weather may be an issue so check back as late as 7:00 am Tuesday morning for any changes to the days plan. We still feel the workday can happen even if there are some light showers in the area so be prepared to bring rain resistant clothing. We will stay within “bail out” distance of parking in case the weather deteriorates.

The hike will be about 1-1.5 miles round trip. Work will include light tool use and some hand pulling of young brush, grasses, and invasive weeds. We’ll wrap things up by noon.

This is an important part of post fire restoration as fire dependent brush continues to try to take over the trail corridor. These preventative measures will pay off big, greatly reducing ongoing maintenance in the future.

Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please and if you wish to leave early you will need a partner and your own transportation. Dogs are allowed only on days where the crew leaders feel it is appropriate – see pre-event email for details.
