Workday Tuesday June 24, 2025
Hello Volunteers,
After a very successful day on the Burnside Lake Trail today we have decided to return to finish our work this coming Tuesday, June 24th. Since we made it halfway down the Burnside Canyon we have decided to approach from Grover Hot Springs on Tuesday. This way we do the uphill hike in the cool morning hours and return downhill as it warms up.
Please meet at the campground overflow parking lot at 8:00 am. Let the attendant at the kiosk know you are with the ATA to get permission to park. Expect a 3+ mile hike in and again back out. There is some shade and a stream along the way and at the worksite. Loppers, folding handsaw, and either a pulaski or Mcloed are tools of choice and make for easy carrying. We will return to parking around 1:00p.
Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please and if you wish to leave early you will need a partner and your own transportation. Dogs are allowed only on days where the crew leaders feel it is appropriate – see pre-event email for details. —
