Workday: Tuesday, Sept 29, 2026
Hello ATA Volunteers,
Our first regular ATA workday is this Tuesday September 29th. Our plan is to meet at the Grover Campground overflow parking lot at 9:00 am. Let the person at the campground kiosk know you are with the ATA. From there we will carpool through State Park property to Forest Service land near the junction of the Waterfall Trail. Our final destination is 2.0 miles up the trail and includes a 1400 vertical foot climb, (over 13% average grade). Several trees need to be removed along the way, and general trail maintenance is needed. A designated sawyer crew will be removing the trees while other volunteers can use McLeods, loppers, and Pulaski’s for trail maintenance. This day will be longer than some to allow time for the climb. We will return to parking around 2:00 pm, so please pack food and extra water.
Our Crew Leaders Jim and Bruce could use as much help as possible so please consider joining this workday if you feel confident about the hike. Dogs are allowed.

Please RSVP “Reply to All” if you plan to attend any workday. Be aware, personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for all ATA workdays. Volunteers must wear long sleeves and pants, closed toe shoes, gloves, sunglasses and hardhats. We provide the tools, hardhats, instruction, trained safety personnel and equipment. Please bring food and water to last the workday. A backpack for carrying food, water, and supplies is recommended. No late arrivals please and if you wish to leave early you will need a partner and your own transportation. Dogs are allowed only on days where the crew leaders feel it is appropriate – see pre-event email for details. —
